Finally Peter achieves his Dream
It has taken Peter Hughes a life time to achieve his dream of having a hole in one. “I have always been envious of those golfers who achieved the ubiquitous ‘hole in one’ and after 74 years I thought the chance had passed me by”. Peter’s wish finally came true on Bidston’s 2nd 138yd Par three. Eric Cull, his playing partner saw the ball drop in the hole, much to Peter’s delight. “It was well worth a bottle of scotch on the bar in celebration”

Long Standing & Well Respected Member, Peter Sheen has achieved his second ever hole in one at Bidston’s signature hole 16th Par 3.
Peter, who has played golf for longer than he can remember “creamed” a three wood during the mid week sweep to see his ball hit the green once, 10 inches from the pin and drop straight into the hole.
“I was as amazed as my playing partners but overjoyed to achieve another hole in one. The last time I aced was on a golfing trip to Spain, but it makes it more special to achieve one at your home club”
Peter wasn’t shy when buying drinks for all those in the club
“Its worth every penny” he said
Well done Peter!!

Gerry Morris finally takes a Divot!
At long last Gerry Morris has finally achieved his dream by holing out on Bidston’s 12th hole Par 3. Having previously achieved two other hole in one’s both whilst playing a winter course off temporary tees and greens, Gerry finally laid his demons to rest by hitting a magnificent 7 iron into the heart of the 12th green and watching the ball roll into the cup.
Gerry said “I wouldn’t have made the shot at all if it wasn’t for my friend Terry Kavanagh, ensuring I selected the right club. Terry is a better golfer than me and knows my game inside out and he carried me around the course most of the day”
As expected the drinks were on Gerry later in the bar!

No Stopping Caroline!!
No content with two Hole in Ones in the last two years, Caroline Reed-Clayton has just achieved her third!! Playing on the Crown Course at the Park Hotel in Bath, Caroline hit a pitching wedge 101yds on the par 3 third hole straight into the hole. Husband Paul was there to witness this amazing achievement and said “It’s getting to the stage that every time we play together she beats me hands down. You cant compete against the perfect ace!”
When will the next one be Caroline??

The 2003 Captain Mal Gerrie finally broke free from the demon on his back by holing out of Bidston’s difficult 12th Hole Par 3. Mal’s last hole in one was over 25 years ago and he had resigned himself to never achieving the same feat again.
Despite difficult conditions and strong winds, Mal hit an 9 iron over 189 yds to pitch the ball once before seeing it disappear into the can.
Mal said “I am over the moon to achieve my second ever hole in one but in honesty didn’t expect it on our 12th, with wind directly into my face. It was worth the obligatory bar expense back in the clubhouse”
Rob Brooks the 2010 captain said “Congratulations to Mal, it is something very few of us ever experience. Roll on the next one”

Evon said “What a way to start the New Year. This was my first game since November, I knew I had hit a good shot straight to the flag, but I did not expect the ball to bounce twice and then disappear down the hole. My playing partners were delighted to witness the event and were more than happy to join me and other members for obligatory drinks at the bar.”
