Hole 1 (Pond)

A tough Par 4 - 264 yards. start, with Out of Bounds left, waiting to catch all those who naturally hook and a pond on the right for those wayward tee shots. The seasoned professionals from the club will take a long iron from this tee. Find the fairway and a good approach shot is needed to hold the green, however, be aware of the banks that protect the green to the sides and the back.

Hole 2 (Bridge)

A super Par 3 - 142 yards. that requires carry over the River Fender. A tricky hole to get close to because of the bunkers to the front, right and back. Out of Bounds runs to the left, therefore correct club selection is paramount

2nd Tee

Hole 3 (Railway)

This is a very difficult Par 4 - 371 yards with Out of bounds to the left and right. Such a tough hole so early in the game merits stroke index 7. A good tee shot will leave a tricky long iron to an inviting green. An uphill put on this hole is advantageous.

3rd Green

Hole 4 (Causeway)

A superb Par 4 - 405 yards, especially off the Competition tee. There is Out of Bounds to the right and a plantation on the left just waiting to catch those wayward tee shots. The green is well protected by a ditch and bunkers. A good tee shot can be very rewarding.

Hole 5 (Long Tom)

Possibly the best Dog Leg Par 5 in the area. Stretching 510 yards off the white tees, it is a daunting hole and an accurate shot up the right side will give you the best chance of negotiating the well guarded corner. An inviting uphill green then awaits, although the right hand bunker is like a magnet to golf balls. A good birdie opportunity for the above average golfer.

Hole 6 (Sunset)

An underestimated Par 4 - 306 yards. A plantation protects the left side of the fairway whilst trees surrounding the practice ground come into play to the right. A straight drive is required to leave a chip onto a raised green, but beware of the monster bunker that protects the front of this green. The river also comes into play at the back

Hole 7 (Cathedral)

A long Par 4 - 458 yards, usually against the wind. Off the back tees, this is a monster, with the river to the left and trees skirting the practice ground to the right. It is very easy to find yourself in trouble and in need of a chip back into play. Achieve a par here and you will be on for a good round. This hole rightly deserves its stroke 5 index.

Hole 8 (Crossroads)

Stroke 1 Par 4 - 425 yards. As tough a golf hole as you will ever play, particularly off the white tees with the wind blowing. An accurate tee shot is needed to avoid the Out of Bounds to the left and the Water Hazard right. Find the fairway to leave a difficult approach to the green, where you must avoid the second Water Hazard to left and the bunker to the right

Hole 9 (Look Out)

A tricky and underestimated Par 3 - 176 yards. This hole features a small pond which lies in front of the tee. A small but inviting green is the target, however beware, it is closely guarded by numerous bunkers

The back nine does not get any easier ! !

Hole 10 (St. Hilary)

The 10th Par 4 - 439 yards will require all of your concentration to negotiate the narrow gap in the trees ahead. A generous fairway awaits but this is a long hole living up to its stroke 2 index. You would settle for a four any day of the week.

Hole 11 (Windy Reach)

A good Par 4 - 396 yards, with Out of Bounds all the way up the right. A solid drive up the left side will give you the best view of this uphill green, but watch for the two bunkers that guard it.

11th Green

Hole 12 (Plateau)

This is a wonderful Par 3 - 189 yards. Bunkers protect this green on either side. It is sometimes advantageous to take an extra club to ensure reaching the green. Beware of the hollow running immediately in front of your target

13th Tee & Fairway

Hole 13 (Leasowe)

A long Par 4 - 408 yards dependent on the wind direction. A good drive up the left middle will give you sight of the large uphill green, protected by several bunkers, left and right

Hole 14 (Fender)

Stroke 18 Par 4 - 302 yards. Not as easy as you may think, keep away from the hazard to the left and you will be rewarded with a simple chip to a wide green. Getting close to the pin is the problem. There is every chance of a Birdie on this hole.

15th Green

Hole 15 (Punch Bowl)

A long Par 5 - 511 yards. This is the longest hole on the course. A good Birdie opportunity is available for those who can hold their nerve and keep away from the Out of Bounds left. The green is in a bowl and precision golf is required to hold the green.

Hole 16 (Shady Nook)

This is our Signature hole. It is a spectacular Par 3 - 158 yards which requires carry over two stretches of the River Birkett. The difficulty does not end there, the water hazard continues all the way down the left side of the fairway and an accurate iron selection is needed to get on or close to the green. hit it long and you will be in deep trouble in the grass banks that surround and protect the boundaries of the hole. Anything wayward may end up in one of the four bunkers. The green is challenging but readable. It is always best to leave an uphill putt if possible. Par this one, you have done well

Hole 17 (Paddock)

A long and narrow Par 4 - 326 yards with a very difficult small green, well protected by bunkers. Getting on and staying there is a problem. This green makes the postage stamp look big.

18th Green

Hole 18 (The Ridge)

A Dog Leg Par 4 - 367 yards with danger running all the way up the left. This is a great finishing hole, land your ball middle left for the best view of the green, avoiding the trees that can block your approach. The green holds the ball well but beware of the ditch at the back and the bunkers either side.
